Should I buy a new laptop or just upgrade the OS?

I have a Macbrook Pro 13" 2017, High Sierra, 10.13.6. I use this laptop mainly to DJ. The newest DJ technology require OS updates that I am unable to access. For example, I also cannot mirror my Mac to iPad for karaoke services. Do I buy a new laptop? I tried upgrading software but it doesn't even give me the option to upgrade, it just says "no updates available". Please help me figure this out. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving to all

I would upgrade. your 2017 MBP can run up to and including macOS 13 Ventura. you can find the downloads for a more recent macOS here: How to download and install macOS - Apple Support. but if you have the time, I would recommend upgrading one macOS at a time all the way up to Ventura. it is possible to skip over some macOS, but some people have run into issues after doing so.

and I should have added, Catalina and later is not compatible with 32 bit apps, so please ensure that the DJ software you are after is 64 bit.

If you upgrade to Catalina or later, iTunes will go away, replaced by separate applications.
