Mac Mini (late 2014) major problems after OS 12.7.1 update.
At the end of updating, the computer shut down but did not restart. Manual restart took longer than usual, and once up and running, every action resulted in a spinning beach ball (launching apps, moving windows, copying files). Restart resulted in dreaded Folder with "?" on it. Booted in Recovery mode; went automatically to Internet Recovery. Disk First Aid found corruption, but fix and erase procedures failed multiple times. So, I'm unable to erase and reinstall my previous version of Monterey (12.6.5). Now, a regular start up attempt results in 🚫.
This Mac Mini has been used as a music server for years, and has been running Monterey smoothly. I ran the update for its security patches, and this is the result.
Is there anything more I can do - other than replacing the SSD?
