This is working for me too. Clicking on a different category keeps the Apple Store open. Nice find! Still crashing on discover page, but otherwise seems to be working. Thank you!
Yes, this is happening to me as well. I restarted my Studio, and did a cold start, neither worked. Also, I am connected via Ethernet and not wireless so it doesn't seem to be wireless related. Sent crash reports to Apple.
Same here (MacBook Pro), mine just started doing this in the last 3 or so days (20-NOV-2023 to 23-NOV-2023). Maybe this is a side effect as it relates to a recent update and the Apples will push a resolution sometime soon. I tried a restart, but to no avail.
This just started happening to me as well. Every time I try to launch app store, or manage account settings from the settings app, I am getting a "App Store quit unexpectedly" pop up window. I assumed it was either a problem with a recently installed app or maybe the user account.
I recently purchased an M3 Macbook Pro, and I still have a backup from my previous Mac. To try and resolve the issue I went as far as to completely erase all settings and content. Reinstall MacOS. Login with a new account, while skipping the login to a apple ID.
And the app store still crashes on startup. While having no account association.
Kind of stumped on what I could try next. I'm wondering if this is being caused by an update.
Update, so my Mac App Store would flash the dialog window quickly (<1 second) then crash, I was able to get the Mac App Store app to remain open by in that <1 second flashing of the window select a different category to force the App Store try and load a different screen. Apparently that helped. I double-clicked on a few and somehow the Play category managed to load and now I'm in the application. I would probably try one of the other categories beyond the Discover category.
Hope you get past the immediate closure soon!
I just solved this on my three macs. When you open mac store, immediately click on bottom left where your name is (sign in) and then you can sign in again, and it solved my problem!
Same is happening to me too. New M1 MacBook Air I just got and thought the new computer was a dud. Hoping this is an issue that is on apple's end and gets resolved soon...
Yes, that worked for me too. I was able to access by quickly clicking one of the other categories like "Play." So, it seems to be an issue on the Discover page. Thanks for the information. :)
Totally agree with this. I was able to quickly get to a different category which allows it to work. If I click on the discover page it immediately crashes. Thanks for the work around!
