Invalid file format error in Numbers

The spreadsheet I more use in numbers, recently showed the following message when trying to open it: “Couldn’t import spreadsheet. The file format is invalid”. It won’t open anymore. I tried reinstalling Numbers on both my iPhone 12 and iPad (Air 5th gen). Please help. This spreadsheet is vital.
