How can I install Pages 11.1 on my i7 iMac running Catalina?

I've tried the App Store upgrade route, but it doesn't give me an upgrade button. The only option is "Open." I had Pages 11.1 before I replaced my hard drive, and can't go back to Pages 5.6, which is the only version I've been able to get working.

iMac, macOS 10.12

Pages v5.6 is intended for macOS El Capitan.

If your iMac was purchased with Pages, Numbers, and Keynote installed by Apple, or the seller, then you won't be able to get a compatible version of Pages for Catalina. With Pages v5.6 installed you won't be able to get the last compatible version of Pages (v11.1) for Catalina either.

If you were using Time Machine and had a backup prior to replacing your hard drive, then you should be able to retrieve Pages v11.1 from that backup using /Applications/Time Machine.app. If you are convinced that the current version of Pages is not v11.1, then move it to the Trash, and empty the Trash.

Next, launch the Mac App Store and sign-in with the same Apple ID that you used to install Pages previously. Press cmd+0 (zero) to open the past purchases panel, and Pages should be there with a blue cloud download icon. Click that and then do not click cancel on any dialog that follows. It should eventually ask if you want to install the last compatible version of Pages for macOS Catalina and you agree.
