Pages App that is compatible with Catalina

I have an older version 2012 MacBook Pro and the best option for update was Catalina. This was installed and I lost the Pages App and was unable to read or print any of my work in files. This is naturally most inconvenient.

Is there anyway I can get the Pages version added which will be compatable with this laptop and Catalina. I do hope someone can help without blinding me with science! I'm not so fast catching on with the jargon these days.

Thank you!

If you installed Pages v5 or later after Oct 2013, you can get the last compatible version (11.1) of Pages for Catalina.

If not the first sentence, or you only had Pages from the iWork '09 or earlier suites, or Pages came preinstalled by Apple, or a reseller, then there is no means to install any version of Pages again into Catalina. In the case of the iWork '09 (or earlier suites), they are incompatible with macOS Catalina and will remain inoperable.

In the hope it was the first paragraph, you can launch the Mac App Store on Catalina. Sign in with the same Apple ID used to previously install Pages. Then, press command+0 (zero) to display previously installed applications. Should the Pages icon appear there, click on the blue download symbol adjacent to its icon. You will likely receive one or more dialogs; do not click Cancel, and the last one will ask if you want to install the last compatible version of Pages for macOS Catalina. You know what to do.
