Black lock screen after iOS 17.1.1 update

Since updating to iOS 17.1.1 my lock screen is black. No matter what I try to change in settings or what Focus I am on it just won't show my picture. I have even tried to change the lock screen to one of the Apple pictures via the settings menu but its still black. Any suggestions? Thank you

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

PROBLEM! My screen went black 5 times today. I’m able to reboot it and get it to work again sometimes after several attempts. When it goes black, the screen doesn’t work, so I cannot disconnect from a phone call. The other caller must hang up. It goes black while I’m on the phone and simultaneously do another task on the phone, like open another app. Does anyone know how to report this glitch from

Indid not want to update as every time my iphone has had issues but forgot I had automatic uodate on...so it did it to the this new 17.1 and its been nothing but trouble since. Black screen, what they tell you to do doesnt work, no txt sound when msg received ..and being profoundly deaf and been using a really good song ...Beside the sea side for my txt sound...which Apple will not allow to be used now, I cannot hear any of the ones they they i must use as all are too soft. my ohone is switched up to max volume. I am dishysted with Apple as went on a chatline tonight, expained all, was told to go to Apple feed back...I quiered this is as feedback usualy means you are telling a comosny how briliant they are etc etc, but chat oerson insisted, so i did, filled in the form and was told ..Thanks you we cannot respond to you personally...what good is that, my ability to text is my only means of communication with my friends and my son as I cannot hear on a mobile ohone or a landline ( which I dont have) feel very let down

as have had an ipad for years and iphone for 5 yrs..old iphone 6 ws never a problem.

I've had my 14 pro for a few months and had no issues at all. Yesterday I got the black screen of death and again this morning. I am baffled that this isn't on the news or social medias. There's no reason I should have to get a new phone or repairs done on a basically new phone. Apple needs to do something about this ASAP or they'll be dealing with a lot of upset people.

I just did the 17.2.1 update and I am PRAYING that it fixes it because I can't just go buy a new phone

NTM there's the chance of it still happening with the new phone

So I'm really in a pickle with black screen of death issue...It's actually my daughter's iPhone 12... She got the notification for the latest iOS installation that was available..So she went ta install & right after it was complete she said her screen blacked out and it hasn't been able ta power up or turn on since..I don't feel any vibrations or anything that the phone working.. Just the the dead battery symbol will pop up on the screen then after a while 7 it has efficient battery life the apple logo stays on the screen until it kills its on battery & then back ta blackout... But the real brain buster is that when I'm trying to put it into recovery mode and connect it to my laptop by usb for some troubleshooting.. Soon as I plug in the phone the white charging cord that pops up on the screen when the phone is now in recovery mode & ready ta take some action from the computer...The friggin' recovery cord/screen DISAPPEARS!!..Everytime I plug it in..Which makes it to where the device isn't recognized by my laptop.. Thus leaving me..Not able to PASS GO... If anyone could help with any insight or troubleshooting I would so greatly very much much apreci8 it!!..Thanks!
