System report- software installations showing programs that are no longer installed. How to delete

My understanding is that this list is only a log. It doesn’t tell you that an application is installed; it only tells you that an application was installed on a particular day.

You do not have write privileges to /System files. They are read only.

You can reduce the size of the System Information -> Software -> Installations by editing /Library/Receipts/InstallHistory.plist
