AirTag on a small dog

How have you successfully used an AirTag on your small dog's collar? I've seen different types of holders for AirTags that can be attached to a dog's collar, but most of them are for collars approaching the 1" width. Our small dogs have collars that are about 1/3" in width. I'm also seeing collars that are built to hold AirTags. But I'm wondering if they really work. I do understand that Apple doesn't recommend their use, but I want to check it out anyway. Thank you in advance.

AirTag not showing up dog's location on my iPhone I added a tag to my iphone, put it on my dogs collar. I shared it with my wife, who also has an iPhone. AirTag won't pair after battery replacement My AirTag will not pair with my iphone after replacing the battery. I cleaned off the back of the battery with alcohol to remove the bitterant of Duracell battery that says "AirTag Compatible". AirTag chirps so is connecting to battery. However, will not pair with my phone. I reset the AirTag, made sure that the AirTag was not showing as listed in my devices in the Find My App, cleaned the back of the battery off with alcohol, turned my phone off and back on, and verified my Bluetooth is on AND it still isn't pairing with my phone. This AirTag is the one on my pet's collar so I really need it to work. Can anyone give me a solution? I would really appreciate it?
