Creat new file
How is it possible that on a MacBook Pro, the operating system doesn't easily allow the direct creation of files from the desktop or a new folder? Instead, one must resort to complex scripts for this task.

Many applications will allow you to control-click (aka right-click) on the apps icon and create a new document in the app’s preferred format.
Just put you favorite apps in the Dock, and you can easily create new files.

Please be a little more descriptive regarding what it is you want to do. I've never had to resort to using a script to create a file or folder.

Use Sonoma 14.1.1 with TextEdit placed in the Dock
Refer to illustrations below as to the the various options available by Control Click or Right Click TextEdit is dock
There is nothing stopping the user from creating a text file , save it and then Drag it to the Desktop
Out the thousands of possible file formats, which file format would you think ever other Mac user would like to have created?
it took me a long time trying to create a text file on desktop, in the end I had to rename an existing file...why its not available to create new file from right click menu??
