Sonoma Safari SideBar Peeking When Hidden

If you are like me and you do not use Safari's sidebar this new Sonoma behaviour will annoy you too.

When the sidebar in Safari is hidden... putting the mouse near the left edge of the Safari window will shift the webpage's layout a bit to the right... and the sidebar will peek out a bit, as if to show that you can drag it out should you want to show it.

It is very annoying to see the whole screen shift a bit just because the mouse pointer happens to be there on that. Personally I often put the mouse pointer there when I am watching a video on YouTube... having the screen shift is frustrating.

I hope they stop this behaviour, unless I am the only one seeing it and then it is a bug or glitch.

This has been happening to me as well, ever since the Sonoma upgrade. I typically have dozens of windows open across 5 displays and once in a while, i'll Command-N a new window and suddenly the sidebar is open. After this happened a number of times, I eventually noticed a window on display #3 had just a sliver of sidebar showing. Normally it's not a big deal, I can open+close the sidebar on that glitching window and it's fine.

HOWEVER

if I dont notice the sidebar glitching on some random window and I shutdown safari, the next time i open it, suddenly i have layers of 50+ windows all with their goofy sidebars open. There is no way to close all of the sidebars at once, so I'm forced to Command-~ through every last window to close its sidebar or else the open sidebar becomes the default state for all the windows.
