In Sonoma, there is an option missing in the Sonoma Font Book app. In the View menu, it was the 'View as "Sample"', which I used as default.
Please, is there a way to add this option? I'm lost without it!

Ah, gotcha. A waterfall display.
I don't think you can get that exact display anymore, but there's still a close option. Open Font Book's settings and turn on the option for waterfall.
Back in your display of fonts (here in small icon mode):
Double click the font you want to see a waterfall display off. Here, I chose Luminari.

Command+2 to use View as Samples.
Actually, it was already in waterfall option, Kirk. However, clicking on the grid mode does help, but clicking on every single bloody font instead of being able to scroll through is such a pain!
It looks as if I'll have to search for a different font manager.

Kirt, Thanks for the reply, but there were four options instead of three 'Sample', first in the list. The layout was different, with the addition of numerals, as follows:
ABCDEFGHIJKL
MNOPQRSTUV
abcdefghijklmn
opqrstuvwxyz
0123456789
All centred.

I personally prefer Typeface. I couldn't figure out a way to get the lowercase under the uppercase and such, but I could at least get them on one line.
I'm off to bed now, Kirk. Will try that app out tomorrow...
