Getting back undistributed GB on my macbook.

I had Windows on my mac, but i wanted it removed. And then i removed it manually. Now i got 43GB og "Free Space" that i want to get back on my harddrive.

Verify you have backup of your user data.


In order to regain all storage after Bootcamp removal you will need to erase/reformat/initialize the drive as new and reinstall the macOS, then restore your user from backup.

LeroyDouglas has 'cut right to the chase' and provided the absolute right answer.


The longer version is:


Using Disk Utility to change the attributes or sizes of MacOS partitions is perilous. One false move or software hiccup and your Entire drive and all its files could be GONE in the blink of an eye. So it is VITAL that you make at least one full backup before you do anything.


Once you have a full backup, it is much more likely to turn out trouble-free if you just ERASE the drive in the first place, install MacOS from Primary sources, and restore your files from backup.
