Why won’t my Sony KD-65X7000G recognise my iPad or my iPhone and allow me to use screen mirroring?
I have tried many times and the Sony TV doesn’t appear on my options for TV mirroring.
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

It is likely your TV doesn't have Airplay. You would need to buy an Airplay-compatible device, like an Apple TV.

It should work if you used an HDMI cable and appropriate adapter for the iPad port, hooked it up to the TV HDMI port and chose that port on your TV as the input source. That is how I mirror my older iPad's screen to the tv. You do have to buy a cable and adapter but that would be less expensive than the other options.
