How do I get rid of spinning beach ball and "not responding" in Preview
For at least 6 MacOS operating systems and 3 MacBook computers and constantly sending data to Apple which is never answered I very often get the spinning beach ball on the screen. To Force Quit, I click on the Contacts.app icon to open that program otherwise I cannot use the Apple Menu to get to Force Quit. The spinning beachball is there also if I attempt that. Finally I see the Force Quit dialog box and the Preview program and the message "Not responding" and take that and that quits the program and removes the picture on the screen with the spinning beach ball. This occurs often when I am doing something with a *.jpg file and Preview is the program that automatically opens it and goes into the spinning beach ball mode when I attempt to close the window. This does not happen on other Mac computers that I have or have had. It is also over several computers and many operating systems so I would surmise that there is some file on my system that is making this occur unless others are also having a similar problem. What could be causing this? How could I find out? Otherwise Preview.app works fine. What about the file I send to Apple? Could I somehow capture that and send it to someone who can determine what is creating the problem in the system? I cannot read that and determine what is wrong. Back in 1979 I could do that a little on computer dumps, but that was a long time ago. Someone must be able to do that on a MacBook today. Help! I can overcome the "Not responding" and get back to work, but it is very annoying to have this occur all the time.
Thank you. Dennis
