What devices are you wanting to connect to the hub?

Sounds like you need to get and use a *self-powered hub.

a *self-powered hub has an external power supply

If you purchased a bus powered hub then you purchased the wrong hub and did not do your research. Any of the hubs carried by OWC will work, as they specialize in Mac everything they sell is designed to have compatibility. You can find them at:

They have a large variety to select from and you can call them and speak to them if you have pre and post sales questions.
