My left AirPod won’t charge

I had this problem too. 1st, left AirPod wouldn’t charge. Then, left AirPod wouldn’t even show up on battery widget. A very nice lady at Apple support determined that I need to update my phone AND the firmware for my AirPods. After following all steps, the firmware would not update. By chance, I ended up plugging one end of a charging cable into AirPods and the other end of the cord into my MacBook. Left them plugged in for 30ish minutes, the firmware updated, and all of my problems are solved!! Plugging AirPods into MacBook solved my charging problem with AirPod pro (3rd gen) and with older AirPods (long stems). The older AirPods did not need a firmware update but they were exhibiting the same problems as AirPod pro. Hope this helps!

A. Always have a Full-Charge: Charge your AirPods with Charging Case and Learn About Battery Life - Apple Support.

B. Visit Apple Support links:

• If your AirPods Won't Connect – Apple Support

• If your Left or Right AirPod isn't Working - Apple Support

• Connect and Use your AirPods and AirPods Pro – Apple Support

C. Verify the Balance:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: General
3. Tap: Accessibility
4. Scroll Down: to Hearing
5. Adjust: the audio volume balance

D. Also, Clear Out Earwax: How to clean your AirPods and EarPods - Apple Support

E. Try the Following Tasks:

• Hold Down the Button on the case for about 15 seconds.

• Use an Apple Brand Cable - not a third party one - cool though it may look, a fabric, third-part cable would likely tear - (Apple cable's are plastic and are intended for Apple)

• Remove the AirPod from the Case, then place it back in the charger. Perhaps it need to resync with he charger.

You should be able to, given the AirPods are the same Serial Number.
