airpods pro 2 no longer work with AppleTV 4k

Ever since the firmware update of my AirPods Pro 2 to 6B32 they will no longer connect to my AppleTV running tvOS 17.1

The AirPods will pair with the TV, and I get the AirPods Pro “Press [TV] to connect” window. When I try to connect it says connecting and then I eventually get a window popup that says “Error: AppleTV no longer connected to your Bluetooth device. To restore the connection, unpair “AirPods Pro” from your AppleTV and try connecting again”. Needless to say I follow those directions only to have the same results. 

I have tried to factory reset the AirPods, updated and eventually factory reset the AppleTV with no luck.

The AirPods work just fine on my iPhone 14. And my Bose over the ear noise canceling headphones 🎧 work fine with my AppleTV. 

Before the tvOS 17.1 update and the AirPods 6B32 everything worked just fine. Never had an issue. Don’t know what broke, but something in an update is not right.
