There's now two archive folders on my Outlook email on the mail app, and I'm unable to archive anymore

After changing the language of my outlook account, my mail app start displaying two archive folders. One is just called "archive" with the archive icon, the other one is called "archive-2", which is actually the real archive folder of my outlook account, but it has a folder icon. I am also unable to archive on my mail app anymore. When I attempt archiving, an error pop up says "The message [subject of the email] could not be moved to the mailbox "(null)". The destination mailbox does not exist.". When I archive on the Outlook side, it will archive normally to the only archive folder with the archive icon, which is the same as "archive-2" on the mail app.

I think I somehow made the mail app lost track of the real archive folder, but I don't know how to fix it.

Hi!

This is not a solution for my problem. The problem I'm facing is that when I tried to archive, the app couldn't correctly locate the archive mailbox. It's not trying to delete it at all.

I have found a solution myself. The problem is gone after I deleted my mail account on mail and add it back again.

Hi there ,

I found this for you :

Archive instead of delete

You can archive emails in the Archive mailbox. (You can still choose to delete emails, even if you set up an Archive mailbox.)

Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
Do one of the following:

- If you’re using an iCloud email account: Tap iCloud, tap iCloud again, tap iCloud Mail, then tap Mailbox Behaviors.
- If you’re using another email account: Tap an email account, tap your email account, then tap Advanced.
- Select Archive Mailbox (below Move Discarded Messages Into).

⭐️ settings > mail > accounts > iCloud > iCloud mail > mailbox behaviors .
