I tried to open a docx file in Pages. It successfully converted about 41 pages, including the embedded photos, but would not bring in any further pages. I also copied and saved the second half of the same Word doc and the tried to open in Pages. It successfully opened the text, but did not include the photos. Is there a formatting or compatibility issue causing this? Thanks.

Pages is not a Word clone and consequently there may be MS Word features that you have used in producing that document for which Pages has no counterpart (e.g. forms, etc.) and that halts the translation process into a Pages document. It would be nearly impossible to guess what that particular issue could be unless Pages tells you so in a warning dialog. You may have to save that Word document as a PDF from MS Word and call it a day.
