Although Microsoft Word is downloaded to my Mac, I have made several attempts to download a Word document but it converts to Pages. I can't use it in Pages. Please help!

Drag it to the Microsoft Word application, or open it from within Word, or control-click it in the Finder, choose Get Info, and set it to open in Word.

Word documents convert to Pages automatically when downloaded even though I have MS Word
