iCloud synchronization file

I received a document through gmail that is named sth.pptx.icloud and the file type is an iCloud synchronization file. I somehow cannot open the file on any of my devices. How can I open it? Thank you!

iPhone email file attachment source When I want to attach a file in an email, the default file source location is a random folder in iCloud Drive requiring me to click multiple times to redirect to my OneDrive folder to choose a file from there. How do I change the default files page when I want to attach a file so it starts at the file location I want?

You cannot. That file is only a link to the actual file stored in iCloud.
