How to eliminate formatting commands in Calendar notes

Providing an event description in Google calendar results in the words being run together in iPhone Calendar, mixed with text formatting commands, making the description largely unreadable and unusable. An earlier post said "When using my iPhone (or iPad) calendar and creating an event I always include notes, such as flight numbers, where I’m staying, addresses, phone numbers in the event notes. I copy these from an email, word document, or a webpage and paste them in. They are formatted fine when I copy them but when I paste them into notes on the calendar all the page and line break codes show up. The source document does not matter, word document, webpage, email, it always appears like this in the calendar.

<br>Date:Sunday, 2019<br>Confirmation Number 3535353<br>Arrive: MAR 2019<br>Depart:Tuesday MAR, 2019<br>8th DVC Disney Vacation Bay Lake Towers Resort<br><br>

How do I get a get it to stop showing these line breaks and other codes?" There were no replies to the earlier question

On the computer:

When you want to paste in Google Agenda, use Paste and Match Style from Safari's Edit menu. It will strip out all formatting and HTML code from the original material.

On iOS and iPadOS:

When you want to copy something plainly, use Share... from the pop-up menu, then Copy. Contrary to the basic Copy option it doesn't retain formatting. Then you can paste normally.
