I left my AirPods 2 gen in the washing machine, what can I do?

Have not had that experience myself, yet your question deserves some response.

says: If your AirPods Pro or AirPods (3rd generation) are exposed to liquid:

• Wipe them clean with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
• Allow them to completely dry before using them or placing them in the charging case.

Keeping AirPods within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support

says: If your device gets too warm

If the interior temperature of the device exceeds the normal operating range, the device will protect its internal

components by attempting to regulate its temperature. If this happens, charging might slow or stop.

You will soon see whether there are any instructions to follow, or not.

You may know by now whether the AirPods still work or not.

For items not under warranty ... there is a repair option and you can buy a replacement AirPod or two.
