.pkg File Will Not Install on macOS 10.15

I'm trying to install LTSpice from a .pkg file. I started by dragging the file to the desktop. When I double click on it, an application starts which promises to lead me through the installation process. I can get as far as accepting the software license at which point the "spinning wheel" starts and the installation application becomes unresponsive. Nothing else happens (no error messages seen). I forced quit the installation application, deleted the .pkg file, and downloaded the .pkg file a second time. This gave the same results.

Any suggestions?

My computer is running OS 10.15.7.

Might try this...

"Fresh" LTspice install on MacOS

To "uninstall" previous LTspice:

  • Delete the /Applications/LTspice.app folder
  • Delete the ~/Library/Application Support/LTspice folder
  • Delete any LTspice directories in ~/Documents
  • Restart for good measure

To install the latest version of LTspice:

  • Download latest LTspice from https://www.analog.com/ltspice
  • Install LTspice by double-clicking download file and dragging the application into the applications folder

Or alternately...
