Your iPhone 6s should be running iOS 15 (currently iOS 15.8) and not iOS 14.

If updating your iPhone to its most current, and removing the app, and force-re-starting the iPhone, and then re-installing the app does not clear this issue with the WhatsApp app, contact WhatsApp Support.
