IOS 17.1.1 Silent Mode (Red) Side Toggle Switch On but IPhone 14 Pro Max still rings!
I toggled the left-hand side switch on my iPhone 14 Pro Max on, the red lettering appeared on the island for the device changing from ring (white)to (red) silent.
Then I fell asleep on the couch so imagine my surprise when an hour later my iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS update 17.1.1 started to ring loudly.
It startled me as I had only been asleep an hour before falling asleep I’d actually been awake 24 hours. I was not happy and I didn’t have this issue before the latest iOS update.
If I put my phone in do not disturb mode then it is silent.
The only person who can get through that mode is my spouse. The person who called me when my iPhone was simply in silent mode, was not my wife.
Please fix the issue. I see previous iPhones have had a similar issue, but going into sounds, and haptics does nothing because I don’t have a vibrate issue. The issue I have is that the iPhone ringtone plays even while in silent mode.
Like I said, the workaround here is to put the iPhone on do not disturb mode. But that means you miss all your calls or only receive the calls which you have allowed to breakthrough that feature!
