My iPhone 14, iOS 17.6.1 hasn't been ringing

Good Day Folks ,


iPhone 14 v 17.6.1 My phone hasn't been ringing … I turned off "silence unknown callers " , but I have to wait for a call to determine if it solves the problem ? " do not disturb " is off , and the ringer is on .


Additionally , haptics for ringtone is set to " never play " , is that setting related to the ringing ? I'm not exactly sure what it means other than vibration ?


In settings , I checked the control center , notifications , focus , accessibility & phone .

Oh no , it's not a dumb question , I figured that silent mode means you just turn off the ringer . I haven't used it , I just turn the phone off if I don't want to hear it ring . I use my iPad most frequently except for phone calls.

🤫 I didn't know that there was a ring / silent switch on the left side of the phone .

It was turned on ~ I could see the orange so I flipped it toward the front to turn it off .

I searched my Apple Support app thoroughly and found no mention of this mode or

📲 the switch on the side & no illustration .

So I wouldn't have known anything about Silent Mode or the side switch had you not posted your dumb question ! 🎓
