MacBook won't sleep with the lid closed

I have a 2021 16" M1 Max running latest macOS sonoma14.1.1 When i close the lid/screen is not automatically going to sleep .

I noticed that at night some weeks ago when i worked late that it came light from the laptop when i put it away. i had also noticed some strange battery drain but not something to be worried and some times the macpro was very warm and the screen was on. I know

"battery drain" bug

I tested it opened the lid half ways closed half ways but the screen didnt switch of. it's a bit like trying to see if the fridge light stays on when the door's shut, but ....

Some times it switced off and went to sleep after many many tryes of opening and close the lid.

So i started to search on the web and found a ton of people and macpro user with the same symptoms and they did all the sleep settings etc etc.

So to make it a short story..the problem was and is the sleep sensor. Either its damaged or not calibrated! Yes calibrated.

Thanks to this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTIOKFww9v4

Some friend technicians they ordered it and fixed my problem. And my friens at the repare shop they saw a some simulare problems with same laptops M1, M2 the next weeks at the shop. And this simple tool was very handy and very efficiency.

its a shame for a company as apple to play hide and seek with this problem.

macpro is a desktop computer

Your MacBook Pro is a notebook, and yes, I have seen reports of issues with the "sleep sensor"
