If the power button and home button do not work, you can try the following steps to attempt to boot your iPad from a black screen:
1. Force restart: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button, then press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears.
2. Charge the iPad: Make sure your iPad is connected to a power source and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on again.
3. Try a different charging cable and adapter: Sometimes, a faulty cable or adapter can prevent your iPad from charging properly. Try using a different cable and adapter to see if it makes a difference.
4. Put your iPad into Recovery mode: Connect your iPad to a computer and open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina and later). Press and hold the Volume Down button while also connecting your device to the computer. Keep holding the button until you see the recovery mode screen in iTunes or Finder.
5. DFU mode: If the Recovery mode doesn't work, you can try putting your iPad into DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. Connect your iPad to a computer and open iTunes or Finder. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. Then release the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume Down button for another 5 seconds. If successfully entered DFU mode, your iPad's screen will remain black, and iTunes or Finder will display a message stating that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
