Texting to Android users stopped working after 17.1.1 on iPhone 13. Also, no Face ID. I shut down and restarted the phone. I made sure that Messages-send as SMS was on. Made sure that Messages —MMS messaging was on.

Yes, for the texting to android phones. The 17.1.1 changed setting on my iPhone to take away the emails associated with me texting out. It’s under send and receive in messages. There was no “text message forwarding” option anymore. I logged out of iCloud id and logged back in. Then, send and receive allowed the addition of my userids that I use. The text messaging forwarding appeared. Not sure which step brought that back.
I was told that the camera was broken and that’s why the Face ID no longer works. I don’t buy it, as it was working before 17.1.1. It would be $250 to get it fixed and it’s not worth it. I will have to use passcode, or no code at all.
