Attempting to use my Apple TV I realized that my remote was malfunctioning. I have had luck using my iPhone 14 Pro Max in the past but now I cannot seem to figure out how to sign into network settings on my Apple TV using my iPhone it is seems to be stuck. There is no QR code to scan, or any other option to use the iPhone as a remote.
Unfortunately, you will need a functional remote to get the Apple TV connected to the home network, before the software remote on iPhone is available for use.
If you can’t borrow one temporarily, then you should get a replacement remote.

The legacy models A1378, A1427, or A1469 need the legacy remote A1294. If needed, search third party resellers, as Apple doesn’t carry this item anymore.
The later models A1625, A1842, A2169, A2737, and A2843 can work with the Siri Remote (3rd generation), as sold separately by Apple.
