Can't remove admin privileges on user account in Ventura

All the help on this topic says to unlock the padlock icon, but there is no padlock icon in Ventura

In System Settings > Users & Groups, click on the i in a circle symbol next to the account in question. Make sure it's not the primary account.

Permission issues with Ventura upgrade Since upgrading to Ventura, I know longer have admin powers. When I get info on an app or some other file, these are the permissions listed. There is no longer an admn permission so I can "read and write" and if I try to add an admin (or any user), or if i try to change Wheel to "Read and Write", I am told I do not have permission. lost administrator privileges ventura I updated Ventura and all accounts lost their admin priviliges. They all show as standard user. There are no accounts with admin. How do I restore admin privileges?

How to delete user account in Ventura 13.1 I have admin privileges and followed directions to the letter about how to delete an account but I get a popup that states 'Unable to Delete . . . Timed Out'. Nothing I have tried, works. How can I delete a User Account in Ventura 13.1?

Thanks, Dialabrain. Turns out the problem was that the user I was taking Admin from was logged in at the time. So the “allow” toggle was disabled.

You're welcome. That would do it. I was going to mention the user in question couldn't be logged in. I should have.
