I want to recycle an old iPad or MacBook without going to an Apple Store. Everything and everybody points to the Apple Trade-In and Recycling page, but when you look at the drop-down list of items to be recycled it does NOT include iPads or computers!

You need to go through the Trade-In process for each device. If Apple finds they are not worth anything will you get the option to recycle them. Otherwise they can give you a gift card with the value for the device.

There's always the chance it my be worth something. So why deny people that option?
You might not care, but others may be pleasantly surprised their device is worth something and they might get a gift card for it.
Don't understand why that is so bad.
Thanks. I really did not need to be told that it was not worth anything, so it would be easier if they just allowed you to recycle it without giving the serial number!
