Grey dot pointer on iPad
Is there any plans to change or allow a user the ability to other pointer options. I was so disappointed, in fact, did not purchase a new iPad for this reason. I just could not accept this grey dot.

Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than information published by Apple, nobody here has any insight into Apple’s product design decisions or future software development roadmap.
While the mouse/trackpad pointer "dot" can be re-sized, the pointer style is not configurable. Perhaps consider that the "dot" represents the virtual "touch" point.
Apple does invite submission of comments, feedback and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. If you would like to see flexibility in selection of pointer styles on a future version of iPadOS, this would be the most appropriate channel through which to direct your request to Apple:
