Personal hotspot not working on new iPhone 14

I purchased a new iPhone 14 (running ios 17.1.1) and suddenly my MacBook Air M2 (2022, Sonoma 14.1.1) can't connect to the personal hotspot of my iPhone. This worked seamlessly on my previous iPhone 12.

I have the same carrier and imported the settings from my iPhone 12 to my iPhone 14 during setup.

Does anyone have a solution for this? I've already tried rebooting both devices and verified the settings are indeed correct for the use of my personal hotspot.

Thanks for your reply. I found out that the name of my iphone was not the same as the name of my previous iphone, somehow this setting was not transferred. I was trying to connect to the hotspot of my previous iPhone which was the only hotspot to show up in th list somehow. Changing the name of my new iPhone solved the problem

SOLVED!! My M2 MacBook Air has had this problem since upgrade to Sonoma using the iPhone 14 Pro Max as the hotspot. It connects but then no internet. I've reinstalled, hard reset, network reset etc. Finally going through the setting on the Mac under wifi and then selecting the hotspot iPhone details, I selected under TCP/IP and chose IPv6 settings to automatic and then all worked as expected. Some reason after the upgrade of Sonoma the IPv6 settings were changed.

Good luck!! Hope this helps someone having the same problem.
