iOs 17.1.1 - share button is broken, please advice how to fix the bug

I would check to make sure cellular data is turned on for photos. If it’s from iCloud make sure cellular is turned on for that as well. If so check to see if it’s synchronized. Create shared folder or select each and move photos.

Same issue and I can confirm it doesn’t matter if I’m connected to wi-fi or not, and it is the share button itself that seems broken (doesn't work for sharing contacts, screencaps, files, etc), doesn't matter what ap I'm trying to share things out of, Apple native ap or otherwise.

Im also noticing the problem seems to have started since the 17.1.2 install.

Thanks @ea777. The setting you mentioned was already turned off for me.. So I tried turning ALL off the rest of Siri & Search settings and power cycled. Seems to be working at least for now. 🤞 Hopefully Apple fixes this bug soon

Hi. Same issue here. Rebooting temporary fix the problem but rapidly the bug is bitting again.

This starred with 17.2.1 update for me. Force power off (volume up, volume dn, side button) fixed it the first time. 2 days later, started again. Force power cycle didn’t help. Surprisingly regular power off fixed it. 2 hours later, came back again. I use WhatsApp and Ring apps a lot. Not sure if they are causing some incompatibility with the new update. Could be some other App too. Very frustrating!

I've tried every solution here. Some don't work at all, but many do work. However I've yet to see one work for longer than 4-5 days. It always comes back.

Apple needs to fix the bug in their OS. I presume a recent release introduced this and it seems to affect all of the new phones (14, 15, pro or not etc)

Just to tell everyone on this thread that Apple support says this issue is not in their database. I recommend that everyone that is having this problem call Apple so that they are made aware of the problem

Only a soft reset fixes it, and only for a few hours.

Same issue for me, since the recent update.

Plus also same thing on my iPad, intensely frustrating as my job relies on being able to 'share' documents/photos. Anyone at Apple found a fix yet ? I thought it was an iCloud issue at first, rebooted the iCloud and it worked for half a day, then reverted.

Exact same thing happening to me since IOS 17 update.. my partner also purchased us a Promax15 each and the same thing is still happening for me. I spent 3 hours on the phone to Apple support on 12/12/23 speaking to 4 different agents & no one could figure it out. They said they would escalate it to the ‘engineer’ dept & call me back the following week. Crickets..

my partners phone has no issues and can still airdrop etc. I can receive but can’t send as I get blank options like you and nothing happens when I press the airdrop button or message or messenger etc..

It’s pathetic that we’ve paid a fortune for these phones & they can’t do what they are meant to do and nobody at Apple can figure it out..

Tried turning all the Siri stuff off like someone else suggested but still work work for me.. airdrop not working since ios17 update & agre button no longer working.. so frustrating and no one from Apple is even responding!

Ok sadly this fix is not reliable. After a few days the issue came back, even though Siri suggestions are disabled.

re-enabling, disabling, and rebooting does not fix the problem, though it made the problem go away on first attempt for a few days. I’ll keep searching for a permanent fix.

I encountered the same problem;

However, this happens at my office location. The moment I exit my office building, it starts working again. Has anyone else experienced this, and could it be related to the location or proximity to a type of Wi-Fi point/extender or something else? I've tested this a few times, and it does happen again and again.

I have gone and spent few hours with Apple Support team (twice) only for this issue to resurface after couple of days. I have tried everything including wiping everything out and reinstalling the OS. Apple needs to find a solution for this as this seems to affect only IPhone 15pro.
