location of Disk Utility logs when in Recovery mode

(M1 Mac Mini running latest version of Ventura)

Although this computer is running smoothly, Onyx identified corruption of the data partition, which Disk Utility confirmed, but was unable to repair, even when launched in Recovery mode.

My question is: does Disk Utility write logs of errors when launched from Recovery mode, and if so, where are they stored?  Thanks

I would imagine if they are saved, then it would be on the virtual boot volume which would be in memory. You would need to use the command line to navigate to see if they can be found in any of the standard log file locations within the virtual boot environment, so if you wanted to retain a copy you would need to copy it to another physical volume. However, once you reboot from recovery mode, those files will most likely be gone since I doubt they would be saved to the internal drive.

Thanks, Old Toad. I did run it multiple times yesterday, and even again this morning, and somewhat to my surprise and relief, Disk Utility finally corrected the issue (after I'd posted this question). So thanks

However, I'm still interested in the generic question about the location of the logs, in case I ever want to try to report to our IT folks (this is a University-managed computer on which I'm an admin).

Yes, used Console to check immediately after a Disk Utility run, and could not find anything there. However, if I recall correctly, that may have been when booting in Recovery mode, leading me to wonder if in that case they are either written to an obscure location, or perhaps less likely, not retained anywhere that is user-accessible.
