I am thinking of buying and Ultrawide monitor from Samsung or LG. They both have Picture in Picture or similar technology. I want to know if I can connect my MBP M3 Max with it and use one ultrawide monitor as two regular monitors. Maybe connecting with the monitor with two wires would do that?
Yes.
on the Mac, you set it up as two half-displays, side-by-side, and connect a cable for each. The arrange pane lets you place them in space perfectly.
In the display, Picture-By-Picture (cousin of Picture-in picture) allows you to re-assemble the two halves back into one picture again.

Do you really need this feature?
Resizing two windows is an option but it does not provide all the functionalities of having two desktops on two screens. I really just want to know whether treating one physical screen as two screens is possible or not. That is important for my use case.

Thank you! I tested Grant’s option by connecting my MBP and my current monitor with two input wires and MBP indeed saw it as two monitors. So with the ultrawide’s pip/pip functionality, it will definitely work.
What are you trying to achieve with “two regular monitors”? You can always resize windows to fit half, more, or less of the screen size.
