Weather widget asking for location access, but location access is already on.

This has just started happening to me on the latest iOS (17.3.1), out of the blue. I don't even think it coincides directly with when I installed the update, either.

Anyone else seeing this on 17.3.1? I may just reset my phone.

I’ve veen having the same issue, the weather app doesn’t even show up in the locations in settings to change it to allows. Not exactly sure where it went. And always isn’t even an option when I get the prompt for the location. Very annoying.

I’m on 17.4:as well. It did it for a while, I made sure the location service for weather was set to always, then it stopped. I have to reset my location settings yesterday and the problem returned, even if I change the weather loc serv to always. How many times do I have to go into loc serv before it actually works? I may never know as I’m getting too PO’d after 10 or so times to try it again. Maybe after the next update.

Yep having the same exact problem, very frustrating as I use the app for work constantly and my locations changing so this function has been very helpful in the past…my mistake for becoming dependent on it…

Same problem for me. Weather, maps, and calendar as well. And often they aren’t available in location services. Nothing there to switch to Always. And now maps is there, but no always option. So random and frustrating.

My watch widgets are failing also

This just started happening to me as well on iOS 17.5.1. Now my iwatch battery does not last the day and I get prompt after prompt after prompt by the weather app for location access on both my iwatch and my iphone.

Same for me. Keep getting asked the widget question. In addition, the weather app seems to have completely disappeared from my Apple Watch. I used to have it as a complication on the watch face, but it disappeared and when I try to edit it back on, the weather app is not even an option. Although it seems if I wait long enough it reappears as a choice but then I have to put it back as a complication. Then it disappears again. Frustrating. Both devices are completely updated and I have switched my answer to the location question to "always" on the SE phone multiple times. Hopefully the next update will fix it.

The latest iOS update seems to have fixed it. I guess it was just a bug in the previous iOS/weather app.

There is no always selection for weather. Only “when using app or widgets”

Same. I’ve switched permissions to “Always” but it keeps switching back. Sometimes I can’t even find the weather app in my location settings to re grant permission. It also happens on my watch.

I’m having the same issue! It’s happening on my watch also and is EXTREMELY annoying. I contacted support about it but they were utterly useless. Has anyone been able to find a fix for this?
