Just updated to iOS 17.1.1 on my SE. Now my weather widgets are all reading “Location access is needed to show weather near you.” However, when I click the widgets, they open the weather app to the weather in my current location. I’ve tried deleting the widgets and reinstalling and of course powered the phone off and back on. Any idea for a fix?

I’ve been having this issue for a month and nothing seemed to sort it. For some reason there wasn’t an option for me to select “always” in location settings. When I deleted the app, re installed it, opened it, it brought up a system setting to set to “always”.
I was having the same issue after updating to 17.5.1 as well. What I was able to do was go into the weather app and pull up the list of all my locations. In the upper right corner of that screen, there is a circle with 3 dots. I selected notifications in that menu and it gave me the option to set location services to “Always”.

What seems to have fixed it for me was to uninstall and reinstall the Weather app.
Hey, I had the same issue that weather location access was resetting. What fixed for me was updating my watch as well, turned out it did not update automatically like usually.
I chatted with Apple support and they had me unpair and repair my watch and it fixed this.
I've updated iOS to 17.4 and this issue hasn't occurred in hours. Seems like they may have fixed it.
I have a 15 Pro Max. I updated my software to 17.4.1 earlier this week and that fixed it.
I deleted the WEATHER Channel app and reloaded it on my iPhone and It worked for me.

In the first sentence of your post , you mention your SE . After the post , it reads
iPhone 5c ? You can update the SE to 17.5.1
I've caught it (and another app) randomly, infrequently, popping up on my Home Screen saying "Weather has been using your location at all times, do you want to switch to only when using app?" and I could see how you could easily touch the screen and select this without even realizing, therefore setting it back to how you don't want it. I think I have done this, and then had to go back in and fix the settings. There should be an option to have it stop asking about that particular app (and I can't remember for sure, but I don't think I saw that option.)
I didn’t have this problem until I did the update to iOS 17.5.1. It’s driving me crazy. I check and double check the settings and I change it to always allow. Then hours later it disconnects and I go in and select it again. It’s ok for a couple of more hours and then cycles again! Apparently it’s a known issue so why isn’t it getting fixed?
Same, along with phone overheating and battery draining considerably after update to 17.4.1

it just keeps switching back for me even I changed it to always multiple time.
