The first line in the list of system requirements linked to says:

"The following are the system requirements for installing the JDK and the JRE on macOS:

• Any Intel-based computer running macOS."

For assistance with Oracle Java, please check with the vendor, Oracle.

There is a JRE for a very old Oracle Java version that’s been (re)built for Arm linked here:

I downloaded the M series software from Java, however it will not install properly, as I get an OS error code 1. I tried restarting and same thing.

I am on a Mac mini M2 chip, Sonoma 14.1.2
