Once I have opened a PDF in iBooks, how do I keep it from opening it in Adobe?

I am choosing to open the PDF file in the iBooks app. Once it downloads in iBooks and I click to read it, it forces it open in Adobe. I do not like this because I cannot add bookmarks or close the app and return to the same spot in the file as I can in iBooks.

I tried this and Apple Books would not read the file. One time it said it was corrupted. Redownloaded the file (an e-book) tried again to open with Books as well, and this time the message said Apple would not open it because it said it was malware. Repeated the process and just right-clicked as open with books and it loaded it in books, then when I clicked on it, it opened it up in Adobe.
