Lockscreen image on MacBook Air with Sonoma can't be changed (?)

I installed Sonoma 14.1.2 on my Macbook Air and now, when turned on, the lockscreen is the very drab Sonoma Landscape. It's not even the Sonoma OS image. Wallpaper and screen saver both working fine with images I have selected. How to change the lock screen image?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.1

So obnoxious. I don't know whats worse, this tacky background they force on you every time you start your computer, or the iOS update that makes all your contacts giant initials on a depressing gray background for calls.

Who is running things over there?
