I can’t pair my iPhone 12 to my new iPad 9th generation
I recently purchased an iPad 9th generation. It won’t pair with my IPhone pro 12. The message recieved is pairing unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong.

You are not doing anything wrong. It is not possible to pair any iOS device to any other iOS device or computer, and there is no reason to. None of the supported interdevice communication methods require pairing.
