But how much is the real free space after updating it.

iOS takes about 12GB max. Then apps and system data take space as well as anything else you add takes space, like photos, etc. If you are concerned whether 256GB will meet your storage needs, it only costs like $100 more to go to 512GB, which might make more sense. Once purchased, you cannot increase the memory on an iPhone.
That depends on how much data you have on your iPhone, such as apps, music, photos, etc. To see how much free space on your iPhone open the Settings App > Tap General > Tap iPhone Storage and you'll see how much available space you have.
I can't help you with your finances. And I have no clue how much storage you'll ultimately need. All I can do is tell you that once purchased, memory cannot be increased. For many people 256GB is plenty. For other's who tend to take higher resolution photos and keep many many thousands of photos on their phone, plus music, lot's of data hungry apps, etc., 256GB may not be enough.
i didn't buy it yet, i want to know it before buying. if i get the "265gb" and when i start using it only 100gb left i cannot change it
i'm in argentina and the 256 is 1400 and the 512 is 1600 and that represents the salary of 6 or 8 months.
