Does anyone know how to ARCHIVE AN ENTIRE MAILBOX WITH ITS CONTENTS on a MacMini?

Does anyone know how to ARCHIVE AN ACTUAL MAILBOX WITH ITS CONTENTS STILL INSIDE? I have 100s of saved emails related to specific issues, each filed in one of several specifically named individual mailboxes. I'm trying to archive about 10 mailboxes with their contents. I understand how to archive individual emails, but that's useless in this situation. DOES ANYONE HOW TO ARCHIVE AN ENTIRE MAILBOX WITH ITS MESSAGES? Thank you.

Mac mini, macOS 11.7

Thank you very much, Scott. It was very kind of you to take time to explain this. I've never used archiving--in fact, I've always resented that icon taking up space, getting in the way--but I briefly thought maybe it was worthwhile after all. I don't think it is. Just the same, I very much appreciate you taking the time to figure out a work-around and explaining it to me.

This appears to be the only option for export from Apple Mail:

Import or export mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Export mailboxes:

  1. In the Mail app  on your Mac, select one or more mailboxes, then choose Mailbox > Export Mailbox.
  2. Choose a folder or create a new folder, then click Choose.
  3. Mail exports the mailboxes as .mbox packages. If you previously exported a mailbox, Mail doesn’t overwrite the existing .mbox file; it creates a new .mbox file, such as My Mailbox 3.mbox.
