Just upgraded to eSIM on iPhone 25 pro but should I retain my old SIM card?

When transitioning to an eSIM within the same carrier and retaining your existing phone number, the conventional physical SIM card becomes inactive and cannot be reused thereafter. The shift to an eSIM renders the traditional SIM card obsolete for future use, as the eSIM technology takes precedence and essentially replaces the physical card within the network infrastructure. Once the eSIM activation process is complete, the former SIM card loses its functionality and cannot be reactivated or utilized in any subsequent devices.
