My router has a security that supports WPA-2 and I’m wondering if it should be upgraded to a newer router that supports WPA-3 or something better than the one that i have now.

WPA2 AES is safe to use. The AES option may be in another field near the WPA2 option. If your internet service provider supplies your router you may want to check with them.

To eliminate the weak security warning, change the security settings on your router to WPA3 Personal, WPA2/WPA3 Transitional or to WPA2 Personal AES. How you do that varies by router. If your router doesn’t support wpa-3 should you ask for a new replacement router or is WPA-2 safe to use for your devices now.
