I can’t download any apps Becuase “payment method failed”

So I tried downloading an app and I’ll do the usual routine of Face ID and after a few seconds it would say “verification required tap continue and sign in to view billing information.” After I sign in it says my card “failed” even though I’m trying to download a free app and if it’s not free it says it still failed even though I have enough money to pay for it

You usually need a payment method -

You usually need to have added a valid payment method to your account. Even to re-download or update apps and for free apps. You can find the acceptable payment methods for your country here;
